DON BOSCO COLLEGE: A BRIEF HISTORY

Don Bosco Educational Society Established ‘Don Bosco Centre, Bongaigaon’, which was formally inaugurated, blessed and dedicated to the youth of BTAD as a tribute to St. John Bosco on the occasion of the bi-centenary of his birth, on 1st August, 2015. In the initial year, the centre conducted vocational training courses for the under privileged youth of the region. In 2016 Don Bosco Junior College was established with Higher Secondary courses in Arts, Commerce and Science. It was affiliated to Assam Higher Secondary Education Council. In 2019 Don Bosco College was established. The college is affiliated to the Bodoland University (BU) and follows Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS).

There is also a hostel for boys run by the Fathers and a hostel for girls run by the Salesian Sisters (FMA) who closely collaborate with the Salesians in all the activities of the Centre, the Junior College and the Degree College.
